Shot By Shot Remake of ‘The Killers’

Firstly we studied the video of ‘The killers’ and made a note of the different types of camera angels came across during the scene, in order for our group to capture an accurate remake of the video.

To begin the shot by shot remake of ‘The killers’ our group studies the contents of the video in order to film the scene again using the same shots. To help us recreate the scene we created a storyboard in which consisted of the same contents the video did in order for use to capture an almost identical scene to which we were remaking.
During the filming we encountered some problems due to the lack of props available in order to capture an identical scene; instead we improvised whilst using the same shots as in the scene of ‘The killers’. Another disadvantage we came across was a lack of female actors, in which we had to replace with a male actor instead. Together we then found a suitable location to film the scene. We then set up the equipment suitably and in a stable condition without failure or damage of the equipment borrowed. Once the equipment was set up, our group constructed the camera in a suitable position in order to capture the right angle of the object for example an over the shoulder shot had to consist of an object standing facing each other. We then set the focus to manual in order to capture a clear, high quality image. We then recorded the same shot several times to ensure we had a choice of shots in case an error occurred on previous shots made.

Finally we then went back to the computer and downloaded all videos recorded and stored onto our groups hard drive, enabling us to use final cut pro to reconstruct the making of ‘the killers’.
