Genre:

To explain what genre is we can use the movie Tower Heist. Genre is categorising movies to show the difference so audiences can know what type of movie it is. There are many such as; Horror, thriller, comedy, romance, action, adventure. Action/adventure such as Avatar will attract teenagers that this movie will be best suited for them. Political movies will attract adults as they are best and more interesting for them. 


Sub - Genre:


Sub-genres are genres within another genre. For example there can be comedy thrillers like Tower Heist. It has the elements of laughter and excitement combine into one. 

Tower heist has the character standing on top of a building. This conotes a thrilling atmosphere as we think that something big is going to happen. more over the characters are very known for being funny. This will also attract teenagers.

The dark colours on this poster for connotes that this movie will be a horror. Also the font of the title looks like fiery and the colours are very sharp. The the slogan "sooner or later they will find you" helps to portray what type of genre this will be. The woman's face tells us that she is petrified so this will attract teenagers.

Genres and sub genre is important is the movie industry as it helps for marketing. Also it helps audiences as it is easer for them to know what movies they would want to watch.
